Executive Chef David Rodriguez is firing up his culinary skills and launching Cork and Tapas in Vero Beach, Florida . David came to Vero Beach as the executive chef for Oriente at Costa d’Este Beach Resort owned by Six Times Grammy Award Winner Gloria Estefan and her Husband Music Producer Emilio Estefan. Chef Rodriguez, a Cuban-American, has worked in some of the best restaurants in Miami Beach as well as Larios and Oriente, where he fine-tuned his Cuban culinary repertoire. Chef David has been an active member Chef by the Prestigious James Beard Foundation.

Prior to relocating to South Florida, Rodriguez made his mark on the hospitality scene in New Jersey. Most recently he was executive chef for the Doubletree Hotel in Somerset, where he oversaw a culinary team of 45. Previously he served as Executive Chef for The Palace at Somerset Park, as chef at The Old Mill Inn of Bernardsville, chef for the critically acclaimed Dining Room at The Hilton Short Hills, and as banquet manager/chef at the Parsippany Hilton. Rodriguez launched his culinary career at the Rihga Royal Hotel in Manhattan.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York,Rodriguez is a member of the American Culinary Federation and the renowned Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs

Cork and Tapas will feature an elegant selection of fine wines by the glass and decadent desserts all in a casual and fun setting.
